Helipad at The Milton

The helipad is approximately 2.4 nm due east of Banchory town centre, opposite the gates of Crathes Castle (National Trust for Scotland) and is situated on the north bank of the River Dee.

It is marked by an H within a circle of 19 metres diameter in white on a mown grass area. There are small trees on the western and northern extremities, taller trees 100m to the east. Overall site is approximately 30 x 40 metres.

Where possible, pilots should avoid directly over-flying the car park to the north of the helipad and / or buildings at low level. Best approaches are along the River Dee, with final approach and take off areas offset along the orientation of the H. A wind sleeve is situated at the northern extremity of the helipad - height 5.5 metres.

No landing fees, no fuel, no lighting. Strictly PPO.
